Jonghyun Park

I am a PhD candidate in Economics at Virginia Tech. I am a microeconomic theorist working on information economics and social learning. My research studies how the representation, processing, access, and communication of information shape beliefs and decisions, both individually and in social and strategic environments.

In my job market paper, I explore how recursively compressing beliefs into marginal assessments can distort Bayesian learning. I characterize when this compression can lead to false certainty and when marginal records are sufficient to reproduce full Bayesian updating. [Here is my JMP]
